S is for Self Care: 101 Ways to Manage Stress
Stress! We all experience it. Even good things in our lives can create stress – has anyone ever planned a wedding or had a new baby?!? So much stress. Sometimes we feel like it is too much work or like we have to make grand plans to alleviate our daily stressors. Stress management really doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated. Here are some ideas that you can start trying today!
101 Simple Ways to Manage Stress
- Close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths.
- Call a friend.
- Let a piece of chocolate slowly melt in your mouth savoring every minute.
- Watch a funny movie.
- Blow bubbles.
- Put it on paper – write in a journal or make a list.
- Say “No” more often.
- Light a candle.
- Buy yourself flowers.
- Stretch your body.
- Learn a new joke.
- Avoid negative people.
- Smile at a stranger.
- Listen to music.
- Dig in the garden.
- Write yourself a note of encouragement and post it on the bathroom mirror.
- Find a creative outlet – a hobby, a craft, a project.
