T is for Teacher Appreciation: TOE-tally Terrific Teacher Gifts
It is almost time for teacher appreciation week again. This year I have decided to put together a relaxing foot pampering gift basket for our beloved teachers. I will show you how to put together a super affordable gift basket and have made you a free TOE-tally terrific teacher printable tag in three color choices. Are you ready to get started?
Once I came up with my theme, I headed off to do some shopping. My first stop (and always a favorite place to find bargains) was my local dollar store. I started by picking out my containers. These darling baskets came in a variety of bright colors and were priced at 3 for $1. A total steal! They are fairly substantial and have a sturdy metal handle. You could also use a basket, a box, a bucket or even a gift bag. There are many options to choose for containers.
I knew that I wanted to include a jar of my homemade coconut lime foot soak in the basket. You can get the recipe for this easy and yummy foot soak HERE. I found small glass jars at my local craft store for $1.50 each. Also very affordable! I like these jars a lot because of the metal clasp closure and the tight seal they form. I shouldn’t have to worry about the foot soak spilling or leaking into the basket. I tied some ribbon around the jar, added a print out of the ingredients and instructions and tucked them in the basket.
Next I added a few foot and nail care items that I picked up inexpensively. Again most of these items came from the dollar store. I used a small manicure set, a nail file, a nail brush, nail polish remover wipes, a foot file, and toe dividers. You could also include foot lotion, a pumice stone, fuzzy socks, slippers, flip flops, or nail polish. There were so many cute things to add in! A gift certificate for a pedicure would also be a great addition if you are looking to spend a little more on your teachers than just the cost of this gift basket.
I carefully arranged my items in the basket using some tissue paper filler in the bottom. I thought about tying some ribbon on the handle or basket itself, but with the ribbon on the jar of foot soak it didn’t really need one. I finished the gift off by adding one of my TOE-tally terrific teacher tags. Bam! Done! So cute and really inexpensive.

*Please keep in mind that the colors you see on your monitor may print out darker or lighter depending on your printer. They will download in sheets of four tags to a page. I printed mine out on standard sized white card stock.
If you are looking for other teacher appreciation gift ideas, I will share what I have done in years past:
Two years ago, I purchased potted flowers for each teacher. I found gorgeous, brightly colored Gerber daisies that were just perfect. I printed out super cute tags that you could personalize with your child’s name. They read “Thank you for helping Ava BLOOM!”. You can find these free printable tags in three different colors on the Skip To My Lou website by clicking HERE. I added Ava’s name, printed them out, cut them out and taped them to a chop stick. I stuck the sign in the plant and tied a ribbon around the pot. Easy and quick! And they turned out really cute.
Last year I was inspired by another free printable I found. We made “I’m tickled pink that you’re my teacher!” gift bags. Download the printable tag HERE from the Homes.com blog. Ava and I had fun shopping for all pink items to put in our bags. Pink lip gloss and nail polish, pink paper and pens, pink bottles of flavored water, pink bubble gum and candy, you name it. We even found pink princess goldfish crackers! We put all of our finds in a bright pink gift bag and tied the printable tag on with some tulle. Again easy and super fun!
I hope you found some easy ideas and inspiration to help you with teacher appreciation week. I can’t thank our TOE-tally terrific teachers enough for the hard work and love they show my girls every day. I would love to hear from you about your teacher appreciation gifts this year! I am always looking for ideas for the future.
